Description of Camp
jett_hall_250.jpg
Our HPSA Residential Soccer Camp is now open for registration.  We hope your player can join us for what we believe will be an intense four days of soccer and tremendous fun as well as exposure to college coaches and the college recruiting process.  Our camp will be held at Virginia Episcopal School, a college preparatory, independent boarding/day school for students in grades 9-12.  Founded in 1916, VES is located near the Blue Ridge Mountains in residential Lynchburg, Virginia.  The school is set on 200 acres with top class athletic and boarding facilities.  HPSA has leased the entire facility for our camp, and will have access to the swimming pool; indoor gymnasiums; tennis courts; student union; dining hall; and three soccer fields (one Bermuda grass).  The emphasis for our younger players will be on technical skills development; excellent coaching and initial exposure to college coaches along with an overview of the college recruiting process.  The emphasis for our older players will be readiness for college play – both for those that will be heading for college pre-season in August and also for high school juniors and seniors that will benefit from working directly with college coaches.

Ages: 13-18 year olds (boys only)
Cost: Overnight Camper (Individual) - $595
Overnight Camper (Team – 12 or more players) - $550
Commuter Camper - $350

Residential Camp Highlights
The HPSA camp is designed for the premier youth player (U13-U15 and U16-U18) who is looking to improve his abilities and/or has aspirations of playing soccer beyond their HS years.  College Coaches from multiple Virginia schools will be attending the camp as guest coaches/lecturers.  The goal of this camp is to provide players with the highest quality level training in all aspects of the game and to provide education and insight into the requirements demanded of a premier player (both on the field, off the field, and in the classroom) as they move into their elite travel and post- elite travel playing careers.

College coaches will conduct training sessions as well as provide interactive discussion panels for college bound players and those who aspire to play at the college level.  A primary focus will be to simulate a typical pre-season college training week
*** Players should be at an excellent physical fitness level to meet the demands of this camp***

HP Premier Goalkeeper Academy – Residential Camp (Jul 18-21):

The HP Premier Goalkeeper Academy was developed to provide professional instruction and a foundation for all attendees to become the best goalkeeper they can be.  Our target player is an advanced goalkeeper that is truly committed to putting in the time and effort needed to become a better goalkeeper.  Our goal is to prepare each goalkeeper for the next level.   Each and every player will leave the academy with a better understanding of the position as well as what is required of them on a daily basis to be successful.  Before departing the academy every goalkeeper will be given a personal evaluation sheet and curriculum for them to follow for future advancement.  Our goal is to build a relationship with all of our young goalkeepers that will enable an “open forum” for discussion throughout their career.  We want to be your line of communication when it comes to goalkeeping questions or concerns.

The goalkeeping academy staff includes Mike Ammann, a former professional player with Charlton Athletic (England), DC United, and NY Metrostar’s (now Red Bulls), and John O’Hara, the current goalkeeper coach at George Mason University and former professional player in Ireland and the USA.
